Stephen is the son of Nathaniel Cook(1789-1855) and Molsey Baskin(1804-1879). He died at age 23 at his father's house just days after his father, probably of typhoid fever. He was visiting from Alabama where he left a young wife and infant child whose names are unknown. He was probably buried at Flat Creek Cemetery with his father though none of these graves have been found though LDS records indicate his father was buried at Flat Creek Cemetery. His obituary was found below his father's in the 1855 Lancaster Ledger.
