ANECDOTES:

In addition to raising her large brood, Mother also did
any job she could get "practical nurse" delivering babies, taking in laundry, housekeeping, etc. Regardless, she always had a full dinner on the table where the children and any other friend or relative or "hobo" who appeared could get their fill. The family was always poor. I remember that having a jar of peanut butter in the house was a real treat and it would disappear within moments. Despite their hard life, Father and Mother were kind, loving parents and the house was always full of fun and laughter. - Jean, daughter;

Grandma loved to write poetry and played Scrabble with me. My Mom told me that my grandma, Faye, would feed any hobo who would knock on her back door - even though it was the Depression and she was poor. They knew she had a pump on her back yard and the hobos could see it from their train car and come to her back door. She would always give the hobos something to eat on the back door steps. - Renee, granddaughter;

MY GRANDMA DIED TODAY

My Grandma died today
There is stillnes in the air
Humanity has lost a treasure
An invauable soul

My Grandma died today
All of a sudden the world looks differently
People take on more meaning
I am aware of the awesome contribution
One woman can make

A mother of 11
A giver of joy
An anchor
A harbor
A safe haven in a cruel world
A quiet rest in times of trouble

My Grandma died today
It's time for me to give honour
Pay respect
Reflect

How can I give honour without her presence?
carry on, yes, carry on
If I live my life with love...she lives
If I live my life with hate...she dies
I honour her with my life

My Grandma died today
Yet through love...she lives

I love you grandma

REMEMBER ME WHEN FLOWERS BLOOM
EARLY IN THE SPRING.
REMEMBER ME ON SUNNY DAYS,
IN THE FUN THAT SUMMER BRINGS,
REMEMBER ME IN THE FALL AS YOU
WALK THROUGH LEAVES OF GOLD;
AND IN THE WINTERTIME REMEMBER
ME IN THE STORIES THAT ARE TOLD.
BUT MOST OF ALL,REMEMBER EACH
DAY RIGHT FROM THE START.
I WILL BE FOREVER NEAR FOR
I LIVE WITHIN YOUR HEART.
