TUPELO – Jettie Cross Sanders, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Montgomery County on April 22, 1918, to John Monroe and Sabra Ann Greenlee Cross. She was a graduate of Draughon's Business College in Memphis. After graduation, she was the office manager for Tombigbee Electric. Later, alongside her husband, she owned and operated Travelers Motel on North Gloster until her retirement in 1979. She was a longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, loved her flowers, feeding and watching the birds. She was an avid dog lover, thrived with their companionship, especially the time she spent with her Yorkie, Jazzy.

Stateroom services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at W.E. Pegues in Tupelo with Rev. Matt Scopel officiating. Graveside services will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include her children, Melinda Beth Sanders of Tupelo and Paul Robin Sanders (Sandra) of Gulfport; and her grandson, Paul Robin Sanders Jr. of Hammond, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Page Sanders; her sisters, Zenie Milstead, Thelma Cross Carmeen and Velma Cross; and her brothers, Dennis Cross and William "Dub" Cross.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
