Funeral services for Paul Douglas "Dawg" Coates, 47, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Bible Truth Holiness Church. The Rev. Hazel Mixon will officiate with burial in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 2, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Coates died Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Born in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late Daniel Paul and Wilma Matthews Coates.
Surviving are his fiance, Pamela Jordan of Hartsville, SC; daughter, Summer (Blake) Craddock of Florence, SC; brothers, Sonny (Nancy) Matthews of Effingham, SC, Bobby (Irma) Matthews of Florence, SC, Billy Matthews of Florence, SC, Ronnie (Debbie) Matthews of Florence, SC; sisters, Darlene (George) Weatherford of Florence, SC, Margaret (Foster W.) Sanders of Timmonsville, SC, Susie (Jeff) Tolar of Timmonsville, SC, Debbie (Jerry) Threadgill of Timmonsville, SC; stepchildren, Chase Huckabee, Chasidy Huckabee, Chance Huckabee; grandchildren, Mariah, Riley, Chloe, Christian, Gage. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jessie "Pee Wee" Matthews and Richard "Pendar" Matthews.
