He was born May 9, 1909, in Inez to Martin and Laura Sand. He married Mary Rybak
on June 4, 1931, in Bemidji. They made their home in Cormant Township, Beltrami
County, and he farmed there for 70 years.
He had been on the Cormant town board for many years and served on the Blackduck
Creamery board.
He enjoyed old-time music, dancing, cards, reading, and visiting with family and
friends.
He is survived by two sons, Walter Sand, Port Orchard, Wash., and James (Jan)
Sand, Coon Rapids, Minn.; a daughter, Marie Keene, Blackduck; six grandchildren;
and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife (1992), a son-in-law, Everet Keene Sr.; a
daughter-in-law, Bonnie Sand; and a granson, Everet Keene Jr.
