Services For Nellie Kidwell Of Leonard
Funeral services for Nellie B. Kidwell, 87, of Leonard, were held this afternoon at 1:30 in the Greening Funeral Home in Shelbyville. The Rev. Dan Kaufmann conducted the services. Burial was in the Brethren cemetery near Cherry Box.
Mrs. Kidwell died Sunday afternoon at 12:30 in a Kirksville hospital.
Born in Steffenville on Oct. 2, 1887, she was a daughter of William Michael and Mary Benjamin Thorp. On Feb. 12, 1908 in Shelbina, she was married to William Garrett Kidwell who preceded her in death in 1960. Also preceding her in death were one sister, three brothers and three half-brothers.
Surviving are four daughters, Alice Florence Carney and Mary Jane Resa, both of Leonard, Genelee Beckley of Clarence and Della Lou Craggs of Novelty; one son, Ernest Lee Kidwell of Leonard; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kidwell was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
