He was the husband of the late Thelma M. (Hildebrand) Ness, who died in 1987.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Jane Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Yoe Union Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 605 Dallastown Color Guard. Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ness was born May 27, 1916, in York Twp., the son of the late Tempest W. and Rebecca C. (Hess) Ness.
Mr. Ness was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Yoe, and had been employed by the former Beacon Milling Co. of York for 32 years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during WWII, during which time he was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart Medal. Mr. Ness was a member of the Yoe Fire Co. for 63 years, the American Legion Post 605 in Dallastown and the Windsor Fish and Game Association.
Mr. Ness is survived by a son, Thomas J.T. Ness, Jr., of Windsor; two daughters, Dawn M. Tyson of Windsor and Lorraine K. Ramble of Red Lion; five grandchildren, David Tyson, Deborah Scheetz, Vicki Clouser, Matthew and Julie Ramble; and four great-grandchildren, Derrick and Kevin Scheetz and Hans and Brock Clouser.
