Hugh V. Barton, 86, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late George H. and Norma Van Hyning Barton.

He worked as a licensed practical nurse at Wilton Developmental Center.

He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Hugh was a member of American Legion Post 490 in Stillwater.

He graduated from the School of Practical Nursing, Staten Island, in 1969.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Verna, and his brother, George Barton.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Barton; his sons, Norman Barton of Edinburg, Charles Barton of Mechanicville, Glenn Barton of Duanesburg and Garth Barton of Porter Corners; his stepdaughter, Kimberly Sesselman of Wilton; as well as 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A committal service with full military honors will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
