Word was received here this morning of the death of O. E. Churchill, a former well known resident of Libertyville. For several years Mr. Churchill had been living at the home of his son, Fred Churchill, at Oswego, Ill. It was learned several days ago that he was in an Aurora hospital, and his condition serious. He was past eighty years of age, and a veteran of the civil war, being a member of the local G. A. R. post. He was here only a few weeks ago to attend the funeral of his friend and comrade John Ballard. The body will be brought to Libertyville and funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock standard time. Full details of the passing of Mr. Churchill will be printed in next week’s Independent.
