Teresa P. Ward, 66, of Parsons died Monday, July 29, 2013, at her home. She had been in failing health, but her death was unexpected.

She was born on Jan. 16, 1947, in Parsons to William and Lina Mae (Wiles) Adams. She grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons and Altamont schools, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1965. She lived in Independence and Lawrence before moving to St. Paul.

She married Richard "Dick" Ward on May 25, 1968, at United Methodist Church in St. Paul. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1989.

She worked as a cook at St. Paul schools and later retired from Wal-Mart at Parsons in 2007.

Teresa loved reading books, baking and cooking and loved to be with her children and grandchildren. She loved to watch her sons play sports when they were younger. She enjoyed watching Cubs and Braves baseball. She attended Federated Church in Erie with her husband.

Survivors include three sons, Kevin Ward and his wife, Lin, of Wilmington, N.C., Tim Ward and his wife, Vicki, of Pittsburg and Doug Ward and his wife, Julie, of Allen, Texas; six grandchildren, Jessica McFadden, Joshua Ward, Jarrett Ward, Ethan Ward, Evan Ward and Douglas Ward Jr.; two brothers, Leonard "Butch" Adams and his wife, Judy, of Lawrence and Gordon Adams and his wife, Kathy, of Parsons; four sisters, Joanne Keith of Texarkana, Texas, Ernestine Gutierrez of Springfield, Mo., Susie Spriggs and her husband, Gary, of Lawrence and Ronita Spriggs and her husband, Wes, of Parsons; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Adams and Ronald Adams; and a sister, Mary Louise Feuerborn.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 3rd, at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery at St. Paul. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Parsons Babe Ruth baseball program and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, 67357.
