Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Duelm, for Edmund M. Herbst, 84, who died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at St. Benedict's Center, St Cloud. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Edmund Herbst was born Feb. 1, 1914 in Foley to Albert and Minnie (Ahrens) Herbst. He married Alma Henry on Aug. 27, 1946, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm. He had lived and farmed in the Duelm area all his life. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he was a member of the parish council and past trustee. He was a past District 128 school board member.

Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Judy Winkelman, Kathy Rahm, JoAnn Winkelman and Don of Foley, Alan of Sartell, and Harold of Litchfield; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michael and Cecelia.
