Carolyn Sue Pennington of the Shepherds Hill Community in Keokee, VA was born in Keokee, VA on Friday, April 20, 1945 and passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home at the age of 68 years. She had been a homemaker and a member of the Meadow Fork Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Ora Pennington, two brothers Clyde and Bob Pennington and three sisters Shirley Mays, Inez Pennington and Faye Tomlinson. Carolyn is survived by one son David DeWayne Scott and one daughter Karen Bostic, two grandchildren Michael Hawk and wife, Kara of Big Stone Gap, VA and Jacob Scott of Jonesville, VA, five great-grandchildren Matthew, Caleb and Paisley Hawk and Ragan and Landon Tate.She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap,VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service.Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
