Charles A. Barnes graduated from Wiscasset Academy and entered the U.S. Army Air Corps where he earned the rank of Sergeant. On June 24, 1950 he married Willie "Billie" Ingram. He owned and operated a sawmill in Wiscasset with his grandfather buying and cutting wood lots. He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a rigger, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed pulling horses, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the American Legion in Wiscasset and the Masons Lodge #3 in Wiscasset.
He was predeceased by his wife, Willie Barnes on June 5, 2007; and brothers, Bob Barnes, Carl Barnes, and Richard Barnes.
