Ralph Osborn Botkin, 72, 585 Shawnee Ct., Seymour, died at 1:35 p.m. Friday, November 1, at the Jackson County Hospital. He had been ill for four months.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour. He was a self-employed grocer and was retired from Jackson County Bank. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a 20-year member of the Boy Scout Troop committee.
He was born July 14, 1919, in Deputy to the late Daniel Oscar and Pear Peters Botkin. He moved to Seymour in 1946 from Old Paris. He married the former Virginia G. Breeden on July 13, 1940, in Charlestown, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Gerald N. Botkin and Dan R. Botkin, both of Seymour; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Weir, Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 4, at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Rev Daniel Mattox officiated. Burial in Acme Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
