John F. Siscel, Jr. age 93, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 07, 2016.

John was born January 18, 1923 in Troy, IN to the late John Frederick and Winona (Olberding) Siscel. John was the “Ice Man” delivering ice for 27 years and retired from Whirlpool Corporation. He loved spending time with his family, teasing and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always looked forward to going out to breakfast with his family several times each week. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed canning the produce from his garden, loved watching old western movies and attending SWIRCA. John was a 1944 graduate of Reitz High School where he enjoyed playing football.

Surviving John are two daughters, all of Evansville; two sisters, one brother, eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

IN addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Archie” (Market) Siscel in 1977, also a grandson, Kevin Siscel and two sisters, Helen Miller and Sharon Miller.

Funeral services for John will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Theodore Tempel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
