Hominy - Glenn Dale Edwards, 57, Linn Energy pumper, died July 26 in Cleveland, Okla. Service 10 a.m. Friday, Old Hominy High School Gymnasium. Chapman-Black, Cleveland.

 Glenn Dale and Linda Lou (Strange) Edwards passed away as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on Friday, July 26, 2013. The couple were returning from a visit with their son, Jason and returning to their home in Hominy when the accident occurred, about seven miles south of Cleveland.

 Mr. Edwards was born on December 16, 1955 in Talihina, Okla. He was the son of Gene and Mildred Corrine (Baker) Edwards. He moved his parents at an early age to California and attended school in there. Although his parents returned to Hominy in 1971, he remained in California to complete his education, graduating from Hogan High School in Valejo, California with the Class of 1974.

 He started a career in the oilfield at the early age of sixteen and has worked in almost every capacity in the industry. His expertise was known throughout the area having learned the business from the ground up as a roughneck, roustabout, driller, pumper and operating a pulling unit. He was employed by many companies during his career including C. H. Tyler, Southland Energy, Lamamco Drilling and was employed as a pumper for Linn Energy at the time of his death.

 He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He liked tinkering on about any kind of motor or engine and would work on anything that he thought he could repair and some things he couldn't. Glenn was described by his family as a funny, giving and hardworking man that was an excellent role model. He was considered as a hero to his son, Jason. Glenn was extremely proud of his Native American Heritage as a member of the Choctaw Nation.

 Mr. and Mrs. Edwards were married around the Hominy Okla. area in 1974. They have made their home in Hominy for their entire married life. They were know throughout the Hominy area by almost everyone and will be missed by all. .



 Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Old Hominy High School Gymnasium. Interment will follow at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
