Glenn Dale and Linda Lou (Strange) Edwards passed away as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on Friday, July 26, 2013. The couple were returning from a visit with their son, Jason and returning to their home in Hominy when the accident occurred, about seven miles south of Cleveland.
Linda Lou (Strange) Edwards was born on born July 27, 1956 in Hominy, Okla. She was the daughter of William George and Betty Lou (Hinton) Strange. She was raised and attended school in Hominy, graduating with the Class of 1974.
Mrs. Edwards was a feisty, outspoken servant who would help anyone who needed help. She often said that she was, "large and in charge." She was her son Jason's biggest fan and truly loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Her family indicated that if a degree could be given in ornery that she would have a PHD. Although at times a bit unpredictable, her jovial and loving personality endured her to everyone she met. She enjoyed bossing everyone around in a good way and loved working on craft projects. She would always be found drinking unsweetened iced tea and enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart.
She was employed for many years by the Hominy Public School System. She worked in different capacities including providing transportation for the special needs children, working as a substitute teacher and as a teacher's assistant. She just recently retired from her position with the Hominy School District.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwards were married around the Hominy Okla. area in 1974. They have made their home in Hominy for their entire married life. They were know throughout the Hominy area by almost everyone and will be missed by all. .
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Old Hominy High School Gymnasium. Interment will follow at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
