John Tyner was the son of Harris Tyner and Nancy Adair. He and his twin brother, James Tyner, are buried with their mother and their wives. When Fayette County IN was formed, John was chosen as one of the three original county commissioners. He was killed while felling a tree. John was also the brother of Rev. William Tyner who founded Little Cedar Baptist Church (and others) in Franklin County.
BTW, I did not take the photo with the chalk on the stone. This method is frowned upon by professional stone restorers.
