DONOHUE, Raymond Valentine

Raymond Valentine Donohue was a 33-year Lorain city fire fighter. He retired in 1974. Mr. Donohue, 87, was born in Lorain and graduated from St. Mary High School in 1931. He served in the Army during World War II. He died Saturday at New Life Hospice. During the 1930's, he worked for the Reidy-Scanlan furniture store and funeral home. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and most recently, belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church. He also enjoyed gardening. His wife, Geraldine J., died in 1969. Survivors include his sons, Richard A. of Amherst and James E. of Wakeman; and six grandchildren.


Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Mary Church, 310 Eighth St., Lorain. Arrangements are by Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home of Lorain. Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 43099 North Ridge Rd., Elyria 44035.
