Our loving brother and uncle, Arthur Glen Haycock, passed away on April 15, 1993, in Salt Lake City at the age of 87.
Arthur was born on July 27, 1905, in Helper, Utah, to Thomas William and Phoebe Elizabeth Bellows Haycock. He married Violet Duke, August 5, 1944, in Salt Lake City; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1982.
Arthur served his country during World War II in the artillery division of the U.S. Army. He worked for the Utah Railway for 12 years, later working for Utah Power and Light, retiring after 22 years. Arthur enjoyed donating his time to show movies to the patients at the V.A. Hospital. He loved to fish, was a member of the Moose Lodge, and was an active member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his brothers, Leslie W. (Doreen), of SLC; and Cillford and wife Ruth Haycock, Grand Junction, Colo.; sisters: Dorothy and Archie Ward; Provo; Vera and Nick Mamanakis, Spring Glen; and Mildred and Rudy Vuksinick, Orem; also a special friend, Lucille Van-Dam, also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother John Haycock, sister Flossie Gold, nephew John Haycock.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 1993, at 11 a.m. at the Hawthorne Ward, 808 E. Roosevelt. Friends may call Monday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 South, SLC, and one hour prior to the services at the ward. Interment Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
