The deceased, whose home was in Keokuk, was doing work for the government here. He had been complaining for some two weeks, but was bedfast only about six hours. His death was caused by stomach trouble. He died at 216 North Front street, at midnight, Saturday.
He was 68 years old, and leaves a widow and four children. He had been a contractor and builder for forty years. For the past ten years, he has been connected with the firm of J. A. Pollard & Co. of Keokuk, as superintendent of construction. The firm had large dredging contracts in various parts of the United States, and he was doing this work here, when death came.
