Jack Platt Rites Were Wednesday

Funeral services for John I. (Jack) Platt were held in the Wickenburg Chapel Wednesday with the Rev. Marvin Elliott, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery.

Mr Platt was working for the MacDonald Construction Co. at its gold mine near Morristown when a heavy piece of timer fell across his chest at approximately 11:30 a.m. last Friday. He died in Community Hospital two hours later.

Mr Platt was born April 15, 1906, in Fowler, Colo. He had been in and out of Arizona since 1917 and in the early days worked at the Octave Mine. He had lived in Wickenburg this last time for the past five years.

Surviving are the widow, Leola, and the following children: Mrs Richard Robinson, Jimmie, Joe, Chris, Gayle and Frederick Floyd, all of Wickenburg; Mrs Lloyd Murray of Kingsville, Texas, and Mrs Robert Galloway of Bagdad. Also surviving are a brother, Dan Platt of Prescott, formerly of Wickenburg; and two sisters, Mrs Ellen Clark and Mrs Edith Newman, both of Portland, Ore.
