Wilbur W. (Whimpy) Drennen, of Powell, died at Powell Valley Healthcare Center. He was the son of Lloyd and Mary (West) Drennen. He graduated from Lingle High School in 1938. From 1940-45, he served with the Army in the 41st Infantry Division, seeing action in New Guinea and the Philippines. In 1945, he married Lorraine Turner in Douglas, Wyoming. She preceded him in death. In 1967, he married Genevieve Newell in Worland. She also preceded him in death. Mr. Drennen worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company from which he retired after 25 years of service. He is survived by daughters Carol and husband Zern Richendifer of Powell and Phyliss and husband Jake Johnson of Douglas; stepson John "Bob" Newell of Renton, Wash.; sisters Jean Ellsworth of Sun City, Ariz., and Elaine and husband Jack King of Broomfield, Colo.; brother Albert and wife Darlin Drennen of Denver; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; brother Vergil Drennen; and great grandson Ryan Turner Jacobs. (Information was obtained from his obituary.)
