Paul Walker Dies From Accident
On last Friday evening while jumping over an iron fence, Paul, ten year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Walker sustained an accident which resulted in his death on Saturday at 2:00 o'clock p. m. in a hospital at Newcastle, where he was taken after first aid was given by Dr. G. B. McNabb. It was found that the impact caused the bowel to be penetrated and internal hemorrhages resulted fatally. Paul was a lovable boy, always smiling and his death came as a great shock to his parents, relatives and friends. He was a member of the M. E. church and attended Sunday school regularly. He is survived by his parents, a sister, Barbara, and a brother, Bobby.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the M. E. church, Rev. N. I Schoolfield in charge, assisted by Rev. Glover, who offered prayer.
Byron and Esther Carmony of Morristown sang "I Know He Cares" "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and Byron sang a solo "Some Day He'll Make It Right." Mrs. J. R. Behr of this place and Miss Lavonne Hardin of Morristown accompanied at the piano. Six young playmates all dressed in white carried the beautiful flowers.
The sermon was from John 1:26 "But Here Standeth One Among You, Whom Ye Know Not." which was one of comfort and assurance for the near relatives also words of warning for the living. A large number of friends called at the home, many were from out of town.
Burial at Asbury cemetery, Morristown.
D. P. Dunn was the funeral director in charge.
