Gordon F. Shattuck, 60, of Grayslake, died Jan. 15 at Condell Memorial Hospital in Libertyville.
He was born July 3, 1920 in Janesville, Wis., and was a long time resident of Lake County. He retired in July, 1980 as Grayslake Police Chief after 20 years of service to the community. He was a graduate of the Police Training Institute of the University of Illinois Circle Campus in 1969.
Survivors include his widow, Lillian; one daughter, Diane; his mother, Eloise Helfert of Libertyville; and one brother, Charles of Wisconsin.
Services were Monday, Jan. 19, at the McMurrough Chapel, Libertyville, with the Rev. James D. Christensen, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Lake County Chapter of the American Heart Fund.
