Edw. Anderson Dies After a Fast Walk
Prominent Man of West Part of County, in Seemingly in Best of Health, Yields to Fatal Fatigue. In an Elevator. Early Settler, Wealthy and Prominent, with Family of Grown Children--Eighty-one Years of Age.

Edward J. Anderson, 81 years of age, died suddenly of heart trouble at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at Durbin, in the office of the Goodrich elevator. Mr. Anderson had walked rapidly from the home of his son, George, a quarter of a mile north of Durbin, to catch the east bound Central Indiana passenger train. As he had almost reached the depot parties at the elevator saw him fall. Hastening to him they carried him to the elevator office, where he died a few minutes later.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at the M.E. church at 10 o'clock, Lapel burial in Brookside cemetery, Rev. O.A. Trahue officiating.

The deceased was an early settler and acquired considerable land, which he gave to his five children, at whose homes he had lived since the death of his wife in 1899. He was born in Ohio, and came to Madison county when six years old. The wife's name before marriage was Henrietta Aldred.

The children are Fletcher, George and James I. Anderson, and Mrs. Nancy Anderson and Mrs. Iva Passwater.
