Olla Justice Brown, 71, of
Near Brookston, Fatally Injured
When Hit by Car.
MONTICELLO, Ind., June 10.—
Funeral; rites for Olla Justice
Brown, 71, of five miles south of
Brookston, who was fatally in-
jured Sunday night when he was
struck by a car, will be conducted
at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon
at the Liberty Chapel U. B.
church. Burial, will be in the Cairo
cemetery.
Brown suffered fractures of
both legs and his chest was crushed
when he was struck by the car
driven by a Salem, Ind., man as he
was returning from driving some
horses to pasture across state road
43.
Taken to the St. Elizabeth hos-
pital, Lafayette, in the Thompson
ambulance of Brookston, Brown
died shortly before midnight Sunday.
Born Aug. 12, 1875, in Round
Grove township, White county, the
victim was never married. Fifty
years ago last fall he and his
father, William C. Brown, established
the first rural mall route
out of Lafayette. He had resided
on the same farm 62 years.
He was a lifelong member of
the Liberty chapel U. B. church,
the Mercer I. 0. 0. F. lodge of
Lafayette, and the Encampment
He had been superintendent of the
Cairo cemetery eleven years.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs.
John Titus, Mrs. Ada Brown
Daliey, Minnie M..and Estella M.,
all of Battle Ground; and three
brothers, Ottus E., Lonna E., and
Wilbur F. all of Battle Ground.

dence after 4 p. m. today.
