Albert came to California in 1856. His pioneer father, A W Cutts was a blacksmith and a long time resident of Marysville.
When Albert was in his teens he peddled fruit and vegetables to the miners. This then lead to him working as a clerk in a product store and then into the hardware business with White and Cooley. Albert also owned the Rivera Orchards in Live Oak.He was a member and chair person of several Lodges in Yuba City and Marysville which included the Masonic Lodge.
He was the husband to the late Emily Wilbur Cutts, she died in 1895. They were married on April 2, 1866 and had four children, Ralph who died in 1884 at three months old, Albert W., Walter and a daughter, Lillian.
In 1896 Albert married , Emily Jane ( Jennie ) Bulter Starr, the daughter of Edward and Charlotte Butler. The 1900 United States Census , Butte County, Live Oak Township Precinct shows Albert Cutts as head of house, Emily J as wife and children; Walter at school, Gladys at school, Lillie was a music teacher
