Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel and Antonia (Cabral) Amarello, he lived in New Bedford for many years.
Mr. Amarello was formerly employed as a weaver tender for Debson Mills in Norton.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid Red Sox fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne M. Mendes and her husband George of New Bedford; a sister, Irene Ferreira of Tiverton, RI; and a granddaughter, Chelsie Mendes.
His Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Rural Cemetery.
