Funeral services of the Widow of the Late Edmund Richardson.
Jackson, Miss., Dec. 19.—[Special.]—The remains of Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Patton Richardson, who died in New Orleans yesterday, arrived here by special train to-day, accompanied by her bereaved sons and relatives. The funeral ceremonies were at the Presbyterian church, and conducted by Dr. Palmer of New Orleans and Dr. John Hunter of this city. The remains were deposited in the Richardson vaults.
She was the widow off the late Colonel Edmund Richardson, was a native of Huntsville, Ala., and was 61 years of age. She possessed many warm friends in this city besides her large number of relatives, to all of whom her noble qualities had endeared her during her long residence here. Governor Lowry, Thomas Helm, Sr., Colonel Wm. Oliver, D. P Porter, S. S. Calhoun, J. L. Power, Dr. P. W. Peeples, W. L. Nugent and Dr. Thomas J. Mitchell were the pallbearers, and notwithstanding the drenching rain the funeral procession was a large one.
