Born in New Braunfels, Texas, in 1946, her parents took her to Vietnam in 1947 where they served as missionaries with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Upon graduation from Dalat School in Vietnam, she attended Nyack College for one year where she met her future husband. They transferred to Toccoa Falls College in 1965, were married in 1967 and finished their education in December 1969. They moved to their first church in Manassas, Va. in January of 1970.
Ruth served the Lord faithfully with her husband in churches in Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She also was a missionary with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in India from 1977-1985.
Their three sons all were born during their ministry in Virginia. God blessed them with their daughter while they served in India.
Ruth is survived by her parents; husband the Rev. Paul L. Morris, pastor of the Rivesville Free Methodist Church, her children and their spouses, and her 10 lovely grandchildren. She is dearly loved by Paul's three sisters and brother and their families, her aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The Rivesville Free Methodist Church has through the years sacrificially provided health insurance to allow Ruth to receive the best of care during her 15-year battle with scleroderma and her six-year struggle with pulmonary hypertension. She has fought a good fight and has kept the faith. Those wishing to show their love and appreciation for Ruth are encouraged to send their gifts to support the church she loved.
