Richard G. “Dick” Dutcher, age 82 of Remus, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 with his family at his side. Dick was born on February 9, 1932 to Clayton and Goldie (Secord) Dutcher in Mt. Pleasant. He entered into the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Dick became a lineman for GTE retiring in the late 1980’s after 32 years, and continued farming fulltime with his brother Garry Dutcher.

Dick was passionate about farming his entire life. He loved the land and the animals. Dick enjoyed playing horseshoes and ice fishing when he was younger. Recently he looked forward to trips to the casino with family and friends.

Dick is survived by one daughter, Patrice (Karl) Wuestenberg of Remus; five grandchildren, Carrie (Justin) Elkins of TX, Matt Dutcher of CO and Aubry, Autumn and Ashley Wuestenberg all of Remus, four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Joyce Yuncker of Beal City, Robert Dutcher of Remus, Dale (Gail) Dutcher of Remus, Larry (Carol) Dutcher of Davison and Jim (Anne) Dutcher of Mt. Pleasant; one sister-in-law Bonnie Dutcher of Remus, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas “Doug” Dutcher; a brother, Garry Dutcher; a brother-in-law Richard Yuncker and a sister-in-law Julia Dutcher.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Friday (11-12 PM). Dick will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weidman.
