Sarah was the fourth of seven children born to Martin Draper and Sally Fisher of West Dedham, Mass. She was married in Boston, MA on 28 September 1856 to George Shepherd Rollins, the son of David Rollins and Betsey Thompson. Sarah and George were enumerated on the 1860 and 1870 censuses for Somerville, Mass., George being a baker. They had two children:

*Lily Florence, b. 24 Oct 1859, d. 26 Aug 1884, m. 11 Sep 1879 Joseph William COX, b. Mattapan 16 Oct 1858.

*Emma Josephine, b. 22 Apr 1862, d. 15 Aug 1862.
