Suggested edit: Lester C. Craycraft, 81, of Springfield, beloved husband, father and friend, went home to be with his savior on December 1, 1999, after a brief illness. He was born December 5, 1917, in Scioto County, Ohio, the son of Libby (Craycraft) and Ray Dobbins. As a young man he attended Ohio School for the Blind in Columbus, Ohio, and was a past member of the National Federation of the Blind, Clark County Chapter. In the 1960's he was part owner and operator of several tire shops in Springfield. He had worked and was retired from Vining Broom and had operated the concession Bait Store at Clark Lake for the State of Ohio. Survivors include his wife, Betty E. (Ferryman) Craycraft; four sons, Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Craycraft, Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Pat) Craycraft, Washington State, Mr. and Mrs. Rocky (Sue) Craycraft and Mr. and Mrs. Jake (Denise) Craycraft, Springfield; three daughters, Ms. Donald (Gertrude) Burton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Keyton, Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Debbie) Cantrell, Kentucky; one of many nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Jeannie) Ellis; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and by others who knew him. Friends may call in the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Rick Clos officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
