Spouse 1: Hannah Hawkins m. 19 Nov 1665
Spouse 2: Elizabeth Clarke m. 12 Sep 1677

Judge of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas of Suffolk County, but did go by "Colonel".

"...a merchant and part owner of the salt works in Boston. He was a public official and military officer. He led an expedition against the Indians in 1691/92 and was chosen commander of the fortification in Boston Harbor in 1702." ~ I'm sorry, I had the name of the book here and can't find it now. I don't know how it got removed.

The Freake and Hutchinson families were members of the First Church in Boston, founded 1630.

Children of Elisha and Elizabeth (Clarke) Hutchinson:

1. Hon. Edward Hutchinson, b. Boston, 18 Jun 1678; d. Boston, 14 Mar 1752
2. Mehetable Hutchinson b. Boston, 6 Feb 1679, d. young, prob Boston
3. Elisha Hutchinson b. Boston, 16 May 1681; d. young, prob Boston
4. Clarke Hutchinson b. Boston, 3 Jul 1683; bap. First Church, 8 Jul; d. young, prob Boston
5. Samuel Hutchinson b. Boston, 25 Oct 1685; d. young, prob Boston

Note: John Freake was an attorney at the Boston Courts at the time of his death. This is probably how Elizabeth met Elisha Hutchinson, who was a Clerk/Judge's Assistant at the time of John Freake's death.

It is written that John is at Granary Burial Grounds, with a description of the headstone bearing the Freake/Clarke coat of arms.

From Samuel SEWALL's diary: "Febr. 7 Madam HUTCHISON is buried; Bearer, Cooke, Sewall, Addington, Townsend; Bromfield, Belcher; came to the South burying place. Col. HUTCHISON by reason of his Sore Toe was fain to ride in the Coach."
