Carol Jean Leffew, 77, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2013.
Carol was born March 2, 1936, in Wakarusa KS, the daughter of Walter and Lucy Starling Henry. Carol and Harold Leffew were married and later divorced.
Carol enjoyed watching the birds from her kitchen table, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. It was of great importance to her to stay in her own home, living independently, which she accomplished. Carol's daughter was the recipient of multiple organ transplants and she was most grateful. Carol was an organ donor as well.
Survivors include her sons, Joel Leffew, Oklahoma City OK, and Galen Leffew, Webb City MO; granddaughters, Amanda Leffew, Webb City MO and Tyffany Wiley, Ottawa KS; great-grandchildren, Mason Brinkley and Tristan Leffew. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister, and two children, LuAnne and Dennis Leffew.
Graveside service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
