Warrenville, SC –Mrs. Margaret T. Hunt, 85, affectionately known as "Nanny", entered into rest at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the wonderful care of Trinity Hospice, on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013.
Born in Orangeburg County, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Chester and Mazle Tyler. She had been a longtime resident of Johnston, SC., where she retired from Riegel Textile as the Plant Manager after twenty-five years of service. She relocated to Aiken County, SC, in 1992. Nanny was a member of the Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member of the Caregivers Sunday School Class. She and her late husband Thomas, who died in 1983, were part of the beginning of the Edgefield County EMS. Nanny also loved to travel and fish.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a son, John Daniel "Dan" (Susan) Hunt, Johns Creek, GA; daughter, Diane (George) O'Banion, Warrenville, SC; siblings, Tim (Susan) Tyler, Greer, SC, the late J.C. Tyler and Kathleen Pooser; grandchildren, John (Claudia) Hunt, Tommy (Alison) O'Banion and Terry (Alyson) O'Banion and great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Gage, Meagan and Matthew O'Banion and Maximillian, Lily, Caspar and Marcus Hunt.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 25th, 2013, at 11 o'clock at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Kyle Poole, Pastor John Faircloth, Pastor Pennye Duncan and Dr. Charles Hattaway officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Pack, Tommy Gleaton, Ed Dotson, Tim Chipley, Mike Pooser, Bill Gross, Tommy O'Banion and Terry O'Banion. Members of the Caregivers Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will take place at 3 o'clock in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Edgefield, SC.
It has been requested by the family that if so desired, memorials be made to the Music Ministry at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene. (www.mvnazarene.org) Memorials may also be made to Trinity Hospice, 690 Medical Park Dr., Aiken, SC 29801, for the excellent care provided to Nanny and the rest of the family.
