Mrs. Anna Douglass, of 418 Green Ridge street, Scranton, Pennsylvania, one of the city's well known and highly regarded women, wife of Emmett J. Douglass, died Friday evening at Mercy hospital where she had been undergoing treatment. Mrs. Douglass was a native of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Morrissey. She received her early training at the Tyrone public schools, and went to Scranton as a young woman. She was active and prominent in the social and religious life of the Green Ridge section; closely associated with diocesan movements; a member of St. Paul's church, the Altar and Rosary Society of that parish, and an associate member of the National Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by her husband, Emmett J. Douglass; her daughters, Miss Margaret Douglass, with the Unemployment Compensation Department at Harrisburg; Miss Frances Douglass, of Scranton; her sons; Preston and Emmett, Jr., at home, and Lieutenant James B. Douglass, of Fort Monroe, Virginia; sister, Mrs. Mary Stonebraker, of Mansfield, Pa.; and two brothers: Andrew Morrissey, of Bluefield, West Virginia, and John Morrissey, of Tyrone, Pa. The funeral will be held on Tuesday morning from the family home..
