Cleo Carter Searcy, 95, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 24, 2005.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Gaines, Methodist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Searcy was born Dec. 1, 1909, in Collin County near Prosper to Elwood and Jennie Searcy. A lifelong resident of Amarillo, Stinnett and the Texas Panhandle, Mr. Searcy was a longtime member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. Mr. Searcy had lived the last 17 months at the C.C. Young Assisted Living Community in Dallas.

The family would like to express their special appreciation to Dean and Susan Stravato of Lake Tanglewood for their kind and generous support during C.C.'s and Marguerite's last few years in Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Scoggan Searcy on Jan. 20, 2002; two children, Jerry Searcy and Sharon Cox; two sisters, Viola Coffee and Bernice Davis; and a brother, L.H. Searcy.

Survivors include two stepchildren, John Scoggan of Dallas and Sue Manning of Grandview; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Meals On Wheels.
