Suffolk - James Kenneth Patty, 75, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce P. Patty. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Cora L. Hudgins and William Turner Patty; and brother, Melvin T. Patty. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and a member of Masonic Lodge #30. He retired from VDOT after 37 years of service and was a Senior Engineer for Woolpert, Inc. for 16 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Terri Crumpler and husband, John, of Suffolk, Va., and Susan P. Rawls of Suffolk, Va.; grandson, Robert Crumpler and wife, Erica, of Lexington, Va.; sisters, Beverly P. Copeland of Suffolk, Va., and Elaine P. Sloan of Marion, N.C.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 30, at the Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, by Dr. Ruffin Alphin with burial at the Albert G. Horton Veteran Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the R. W. Baker & Co Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 West Washington Street, Suffolk, and other times at the home of Terri and John. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's choice.
