Armstrong Woman Dies; Rites Set

Armstrong – Margie Jean [Dean] Walders, 46, Armstrong, died Wednesday, July 10, in Rochester, Minn. The cause of death has not been determined.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday and the Rev. Robert Osborn officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

She was born July 24, 1927 in Estherville to Valdon and Alma Anderson Eckholm. She was educated in Armstrong and married on Aug. 27, 1951 at Fairmont to Leo Walders. She made her home in Armstrong all her life, and was a member of Armstrong United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Leo Walders; her mother, Mrs. Alma Eckholm; two sons, Larry Walders and Terry Walders, both of Armstrong; two brothers, Lyle Eckholm, Shakopee, Minn., and Kenneth Eckholm; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Thackery and Mrs. Betty Paulson, both of Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation may be made at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Armstrong, from 9 a.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 11, 1974)
