CIVIL WAR VETERAN'S WIDOW PASSES AWAY
Claysville, Oct 11, Mrs. Mary Wolfe, aged 87 years, died in her home, Elm Street, Claysville at 9:15 p. m. Friday, October 11, 1935, after an illness of three days.
Mrs. Wolfe was the widow of C. C. Wolfe, a Civil War veteran. She was born in West Finley Township September 21, 1848, and was a daughter of Alexander and Jane Montgomery Sprowls. She was united with the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church when a young girl. Upon moving to Claysville, she transferred her membership to the First Presbyterian Church and always had a deep interest in it's affairs.
She was the mother of nine children, four of whom survive; Mrs. Haley Tripp, of Ninevah; Mrs. Carrie Blayney, of West Finley Township; Anna and Hazel, at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J. J. Irey and Mrs A. W. Danley of Burnsville, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the home Monday, October 14, at 2 o'clock, in charge of her pastor, the Rev. W. V. Longbrake. Burial will be in the Claysville Cemetery.
