Mrs. Hannon Dies; Ex-Clerk's Mother
Mrs. Margaret Hannon, 71, widow of Daniel Hannon, pioneer South Omaha contractor, died Friday morning at the home of a son, Emmett, 826 South Thirty-eighth avenue, former city clerk. She had been ill with a cold since Tuesday, suffered a heart attack shortly before her death.
Mrs. Hannon was born in Iowa City, Ia., and came to Omaha in 1888, was married in 1890. Her husband died in 1933, shortly after his retirement from the contracting and coal business. She was a charter member of the New Century club of the St. Bridget's parish.
Surviving are five of eight children: Sons, Emmett Hannon, Hugh, William of Omaha, and M. E. of Salt Lake City; a daughter, Mrs. W. J. Snyder of Louisville, Neb., and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m., at the Johnston & Salanitro mortuary, to St. Peter's church at 9. Burial, Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
