Daughter of
Elijah M. Moore & Pregiilla Waters
Wife of Samuel Lester Page
(Married 08 DEC 1853 IA)

Mrs. Angeline Rebecca Moore was born in West Virginia, 13 JAN 1835 and came to Iowa with her parents, settling on a farm near Richmond where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Samuel Lester Page, 22 DEC 1854 and to this union eleven children were born, five boys and six girls. The living are Frank Page of Ottumwa, Mrs. Theodocia Grant of Washington, Mrs. Robert Amlong of Lexington, Edward Page of Riverside, and Mrs. A. Howsare of Crawfordsville at whose home she passed away at 4:15 o'clock Monday, 30 MAR 1925 aged 90 years, 2 months and 14 days. She joined the Methodist Episcopal Church when quite young of which she was a member until about thirty-six years ago when she united with the Prairie Flower Baptist Church and remained faithful and devout Christian woman which was shown by her exemplary life and edification to all. Mrs. Page's health has been failing since early fall but the past two weeks her condition steadily grew worse and though all the medical skill and attention were employed to bring about a restoration of health the Divine Omnipotence decreed otherwise. Her husband preceded her in death about 47 years ago and she has gone to join him in the realms of glory in the world to come. She leaves to mourn her demise five children, thirty-six grandchildern and forty-seven great-grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Prairie Flower Baptist Church Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. J. Unthink and interment was made in the Richmond Cemetery beside her husband and two infants. The pallbearers were six of her grandchildren, Jesse Campell, Cecil Amlong, William Squire, Herald Grant, Julian Hulpien and Ray Page. Precious mother you have left us. Your voice we loved is still; A place is vacant in our heart Which never can be filled. God, in his wisdom has recalled, the boon, his love had given; And although the body slumbers here, Your soul is safe in Heaven. (provided by Barb Johnson)
