NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS in regards to Ivy's acting/singing engagements -

"For the Men's Club of St. Clement's Church, "Billy" Haslam's Company of concert artists provided entertainment at Armstrong's Hall, Pape avenue, last evening. Miss Ivy Rumley, an exceptionally clever juvenile comedienne; Miss May Pickering, contralto, and Messrs. Harry Wilton, Billy Moore, Billy Haslam, Fred Chapin, Jack Wise, William Denning and Charles Yelmur took part in a programme which pleased the large audience."

"FRASERBURGH'S CONCERT - The concert and dance held at Victoria Hall last night, by the Fraserburgh and District Association Football Club, was a great success, both in its financial results and the quality of the entertainment provided.

The artists included Jean Anderson Hird, Scotch soprano, who was in grand voice, Miss Ivy Rumley, the clever juvenile comedienne, Violet Booth, elocutionist, Rob Wilson, comedian. The Norway quartette and Gray's orchestra."

"ANNOUNCEMENT - Ivy Rosemond Rumley, the charming little character singer, though practically unknown outside of Toronto, is an artist that would add greatly to any programme. She is possessed of a most sympathetic voice - a voice that grips you in her sentimental songs, while in her humorous numbers it has just the brilliancy required for a successful comedienne.

Although Miss Ivy does male impersonations there is not the slightest suggestiveness in her work, in fact her modest and refined demeanor makes you forget for the moment that it is not a "really boy" singing.

This charming young Miss has a variety of up-to-date costurmes, and concert, lodge or society committees desiring something out of the oridinary, and a really accomplished artist at the same time, should not hesitate to write at once for terms and open dates to 293 Woodbine Avenue, Toronto."

With thanks to Alan Adams.
