ABBLETT Edith Eleanor Heinen Abblett (Edie) of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on April 2nd at age 77. She courageously fought lymphoma never losing her spirit or faith. She was born October 3, 1931 to Arnold and Theresa Heinen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1952, Edie joined the Navy where she met her future husband, Robert Abblett. She and Bob were married in 1953. They were married 26 years before Bob's passing in 1979. Their union was blessed with seven children. Edie always played an active role in her church serving as a teacher, curriculum director, and bereavement team coordinator. Edie loved life and everyone she met.

She always said she never knew a stranger, only friends whose names she did not know. Edie is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Jeanne and Jeff Reichmann, Diane and Bill Codd, Fred and Barb Abblett, Patty and Greg Archambault, Abby and Donny Bergmann, Terri Abblett, and Tom and Jeannine Abblett; fourteen grand children; three brothers and three sisters and their spouses; Bob's sister and brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive guests at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 State Road 13, Switzerland, Florida from 10:00-11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00. Interment will be in the columbarium at San Juan Del Rio. Edie's children invite all family and friends to join them to celebrate Edie in the parish hall following the interment. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital,, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis TN 38105; Edie's favorite charity.
