Wilma Fern Berziel, age 79, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, in St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin.

She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Purdy, MO., the daughter of Ellis and Zelma (Brattin) Santee.

On Sept. 16, 1952, in Eureka Springs, Ark., she was united in marriage to Freddie Berziel, who survives.

She is also survived by one son, Gale L. Berziel, of Joplin, one daughter, Patricia Adams and husband, Wayne, of Neosho, MO., one sister, Clarene Smith, of Monett, MO., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.

Fern received her education at Wheaton, MO., where she graduated from high school. She owned and operated Fern's Beauty Shop for 20 years. She loved to work on crafts and make quilts.

She was a charter member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Richard Buck will conduct the services. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery.
