Isaac H. Macy spent his early years in Indiana. In 1871 he Married Miriah Keas (Keys) of Illinois and mother of Berdetta, David H. and William Penn.
Isaac worked as a clerk in a hardware store and mastered the trade of tinner. After the death of his first wife, Katerine A. he moved west and bought a half section of land, which included the present site of Nassau, and there was engaged in farming and carpentry.
In 1883 Isaac married Catherine (Dinger). They had three children: Mariah I, Henry A. and Katie P.
He founded the village of Nassau on his old farm site. He had it surveyed and platted into village lots. He continued to be an active community member and served on the town council and village board, as well as town constable and justice of the peace.
Isaac died at the age of 72, April 5, 1925.
