Harold W. Castle, 76 years old, a lifelong resident of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 5:02 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the Parkview Regional Medical Center located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Harold was born on Thursday, December 24, 1936 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Howard Castle and the late Agnes (Gerardot) Castle. He married the late Patricia Love on December 15, 1956 in Monroeville, and she passed away on March 4, 2012.
Harold was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville; the Sons of the American Legion Post #420 of Monroeville.
Harold worked for New Haven Wire & Cable for over 30 years, then worked at Phelps Dodge for several years, where he retired in 2003.
Surviving are his daughter, Cathy (Jeff) DeKoninck of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Cindy Wasson & fiance Joe Schmidt of Monroeville, IN; son, Doug Castle & fiance Leeann Stemen of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Caren (Dan) Hankins of Monroeville, IN; son, Dave Castle of Monroeville, IN; son, Dan (Michelle) Castle of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Carla (Rick) Messman of Monroeville, IN; sister, Bonnie (Ralph) Craig of Phoenix, AZ; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Harold in death were one great-grandson, Jacob Wasson; and one brother, Donald Castle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 in the St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville with Fr. Lourdino Fernandes officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.Thursday, July 25, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, IN.
A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
