Samuel had three different marriages. His third and final wife Mary E McGregor is buried here at Palmier as well as a son Joseph.
After 21 years of searching for Samuel's death certificate, I have at long last obtained it from Belleville, through the efforts of Mr. Mark Eros. Thank you Mark you've been kind and wonderful!
Samuel's cert. States he was buried in Palme Hill Cemetery. I am told this is one in the same.
Burial was March 14, 1886
Samuel's first wife was Catherine Gamble, M: 28th Feb 1856
...........second wife was Nancy Anna Bigelow, (nee: Clinton) M: 10th Dec 1867
...............third wife was Mary Ellen Smith, (nee: Nolan) M: 29th Aug 1872

"Besides the above, there is a boarding house and seven saloons. The village was incorporated in 1876, and the following are the first officers elected :-President-Walter Murray; Trustees-.J. C. Sinclair, S. H. Parker, E. D. Ankeny, J. J. Schumaker, and John Ortgier. Thomas Jamison was appointed clerk. .The present officers are-L. G. Cross, pres.; Fred Luce, John Simons, A. Murphy, S. H. Parker, and John Schumaker, trustees. J. W. McCormic, clerk and police magistrate, and Samuel McGregor, marshal."
